Liverpool’s scouts have run into a major legal wall in their hunt for Yan Diomande. This mess has forced the club to put talks on ice for now. Sacha Tavolieri reports that the Reds just found a binding contract between the Ivorian winger and his old agents. This comes even though the player recently made a big move to join Roc Nation.

The English FA still has this original deal on file. It doesn’t run out until December 2027, which basically shuts down any talks with his new team. On top of that, Diomande gave away his valuable image rights to that previous agency.

This creates a commercial dead-end that Liverpool can’t get around. Because of this, the hierarchy at Anfield is freezing the deal. They won’t move until the player cleans up his legal situation.

At just 19 years old, Diomande has quickly turned into one of the Bundesliga’s most exciting players. He moved to RB Leipzig from Leganés and has been on fire ever since. The Ivory Coast international made his senior debut for the Elephants in October 2025.
