Gary Neville has predicted Liverpool will qualify for the Champions League, but has explained what Arne Slot must do to galvanise the dressing room. The Reds were handed a blow to their hopes of finishing in the top four with a defeat to Manchester City on Sunday in the Premier League.

Slot and Co. were beaten 2-1 at Anfield thanks to late goals from Erling Haaland and Bernardo Silva, after Dominik Szoboszlai had opened the scoring with a sublime free-kick.

Liverpool finished the weekend in sixth place in the Premier League table with a full round of fixtures to come in midweek, which will see the Reds travel to the Stadium of Light to face Sunderland on Wednesday.

The Reds could find themselves further behind in the Champions League qualification race depending on how results go on Tuesday, but will be determined to return to winning ways when they take on the Black Cats this week.
