FC Groningen are still waiting for payment from Jørgen Strand Larsen’s move to Wolves and will now also benefit from his transfer to Crystal Palace.

That’s according to Soccer News, who relay information from RTV Noord. According to their information, Groningen will profit significantly once again from the striker.

Strand Larsen joined Crystal Palace in a €55m deal at the end of the January transfer window. That means Groningen will receive another ‘solidarity contribution’ following the striker’s time at the Dutch club.

“This means that another half a million euros will coming to Groningen,” according to the outlet.

They’ve so far earned a total of €15.1m from the sale of the striker. He joined them for €1.1m in 2020 before leaving for Celta Vigo for €15.04m in 2022. A move to Wolves followed in 2024.

That was initially a loan deal before being made permanent for €27m. Six months later and he’s now joined Crystal Palace in a €49.7m deal. Groningen have earned payments from those moves, thanks to FIFA’s Solidarity Scheme. That pays out clubs who have assisted in training players over the years.
