What might City consider in appointing their next manager?

I feel like there’s enough of the season left that bringing in the next long-term manager now is worth considering, and hoping they can produce the results in the short term while also allowing them a run into the summer to get their handle on the squad and how they might want to change it.

However, the chairman’s programme notes last weekend suggested City needed to “stabilise our season”, which did point towards a short-term appointment, someone guaranteed to put a few results together at short notice and steer the club clear of the drop zone.
