On the eve of the January transfer window, no Leicester City player seemed more likely to depart than Harry Winks.

Out in the cold under Marti Cifuentes and approaching the final six months of his City contract, a move of any sort felt like it made sense for both the player and the club.

Now, just over a month on, he’s not only still at City but is back in the squad.

So what now? The immediate matter is his place in the current team and last weekend’s substitute appearance appears to open the door for him to make his first start since November this weekend.
