Rotherham earned their first League One away win since October with a clinical 4-0 success at in-form Exeter.

Goals from Jamal Baptiste, Joe Rafferty, Harry Gray and Shaun McWilliams helped the Millers end a run of four straight league defeats on the road.

The Grecians, who had won their previous five home games without conceding, started well with Jake Doyle-Hayes firing straight at goalkeeper Cameron Dawson from an Ethan Brierley free-kick, while Jayden Wareham and Carlos Mendes Gomes were both off target with efforts of their own.

Former Exeter striker Sam Nombe fluffed his lines when through on goal, dragging his shot well wide of goal, but the Millers broke the deadlock against the run of play in the 28th minute when a free-kick by Joe Powell was turned in by Baptiste.

Nombe forced keeper Joe Whitworth into a smart save early in the second half and Rotherham made it 2-0 on 71 minutes when Rafferty lashed into the roof of the net from Nombe's cut-back.

It was 3-0 a minute later when poor defending allowed Gray to cut infield and fire a low shot beyond Whitworth from 25 yards.
