Trent Alexander-Arnold has posted a fresh update on social media as he approaches a comeback from injury at Real Madrid. The former Liverpool star has been sidelined with a rectus femoris of his left quadriceps since December and is yet to make an appearance under new head coach Alvaro Arbeloa.

The right-back is expected to return next month and has resumed training with Madrid. Spanish media suggested Arbeloa has held discussions with Alexander‐Arnold to clarify that he doesn't feature in his long‐term vision, though these reports have been refuted. The right‐back has only spent half a season in Madrid, yet the transfer has failed to meet his expectations.

Alexander‐Arnold's decision to depart his boyhood club for a new adventure with Madrid ahead of the 2025/26 campaign became a deeply divisive move.

He joined for £10million before last summer's Club World Cup, but fitness problems have restricted him to just 11 appearances across all competitions this season.

Alexander-Arnold has now returned to training and is prepared to conclude his injury lay-off, sharing several training images on Instagram as he builds towards full fitness.
