Arne Slot continues to receive unwavering backing from Liverpool's hierarchy despite an underwhelming second season at the helm at Anfield. The Dutchman clinched the Premier League title at the first attempt last year but has struggled to maintain those standards.

Despite investing £446million during the summer, the Reds sit in fifth in the Premier League standings and have yet to come close to the levels they reached last season. Signings such as Florian Wirtz, Hugo Ekitike, Milos Kerkez and Alexander Isak heightened expectations last summer but the club have failed to deliver in the league.

Slot has faced increasing scrutiny, with doubts about his future at Anfield voiced in certain circles following the struggles of the current campaign. However, the Fenway Sports Group remains fully behind the Dutchman and believes he has been "dealt a difficult hand."
