NOT SO long ago the Hammers were a basket case: Winless at home for nine months and seemingly in free fall towards the championship. Whilst a couple of wins still leave the Hammers in a shedload of trouble, the hope is back at last from fans who now see their side sitting – possibly just for tonight – only two points adrift  of Nottingham Forest.

None encapsulates the Irons’ change of fortunes more than Crysencio Summerville.

Injury plagued, Summerville has only recently hit top gear after hamstring surgery at the end of last season and is now soaring high – literally – after a giant leap for his third goal in three outings this afternoon courtesy of a bullet header from Jarrod Bowen’s cross.

Terrorising full backs weekly, at last Summerville is delivering on the promise that was evident in his last season for Leeds earning him the ‘player of the season’ award for the championship before West Ham shelled out £25 million for him.

And it seems his change in performance level is now getting noticed on the global stage.
