  • The Hammers play Leeds United in the FA Cup on Sunday
  • The team’s next Premier League game is against Wolverhampton Wanderers

West Ham United’s quest to stay in the Premier League will resume next week after they play Leeds United in the FA Cup quarter finals. The Hammers are one point from safety but have drastically improved in 2026.

Nuno Espirito Santo instructed the team to spend big in January, and they did, adding the likes of Valentin Castellanos and Pablo Felipe, alongside the loan signing of Axel Disasi.

Castellanos, who was the marquee signing, spoke of his desire to play in the Premier League and he is the player other club’s are already looking to should West Ham fail to stay up.

The 27-year-old hasn’t found it smooth sailing in London but his work ethic has been unmatched, with Castellanos doing what he can with limited service. The Argentinian has three goals for the Hammers so far and is Nuno’s first choice up top. Both parties will be hope he can help the Iron’s to their goal.
