Boubacar Kamara is expected to miss the rest of the season.

The French midfielder suffered a knee injury during Aston Villa’s 2-1 FA Cup third round win at Tottenham earlier this month.

Villa boss Unai Emery gave an update on the player after his side’s 1-0 defeat to Everton at Villa Park in the Premier League on Sunday, saying: “I think this week we will know something more about Kamara.

“At the moment, Kamara is out.”

It is now understood Kamara will not play again this season, with The Athletic reporting he will be sidelined for the remainder of the campaign.

It is a devastating blow for Villa and Emery as they battle for a top-four finish in the Premier League and in Europe.
