Jadon Sancho will reportedly be absent for around three weeks with a shoulder injury.

The winger was forced off with the problem before half-time of Villa's friendly against Elche last week.

Sancho fell awkwardly under a challenge from Gonzalo Villar five minutes before the interval, sparking immediate concern.

He was tended to by the medical staff but was in obvious discomfort with his shoulder after he eventually got back to his feet.

Pain was etched across his face as boss Unai Emery wasted no time in replacing him with Ollie Watkins.

The Athletic have now reported that Sancho faces at least two weeks out with the injury.

He could therefore miss both of Villa’s Europa League quarter-final legs against Bologna, and possibly two league matches against Nottingham Forest and Sunderland.
