Aberdeen Fans Mock Ibrox Disaster In Sickening Video As Rangers Demand Police Intervention

Rangers bosses have slammed a pair of Aberdeen fans who were caught mocking the Ibrox disaster in a vile clip after a match at Pittodrie on Sunday, January 11.

The Ibrox club continued their momentum on Sunday, walking away with a 2-0 win, during which several supporters in the home end appeared to ridicule the 1971 tragedy, where 66 fans lost their lives in a stairway crush.

In the video, two fans, who were leaving the match were seen making diving gestures with their hands towards the Rangers side. As they passed by police and stewards, a supporter wearing a red balaclava showed the number 71 on the screen of his phone - the year in which the disaster took place.

Rangers bosses have now slammed the “abhorrent” gestures and asked Police Scotland to intervene, the Record reports. A spokesperson said: “We are appalled that once again opposition supporters have mocked the Ibrox Disaster, the darkest day in our history.

“Such behaviour is abhorrent and has previously resulted in a criminal conviction, underlining the seriousness of this issue.
