West Ham United are refusing to pay the £7million fee being sought by Fulham as the two clubs haggle it out. Under-pressure Hammers’ Nuno has made winger Traore one of his main targets this January to try to dig his team out of trouble.”

Which, If I remember correctly, was the very catalyst that forced Nuno to quit Nottingham Forest when the then-Sporting Director  Edu refused to sanction a move for Traore.

Following Forest’s refusal to back Nuno with his preferred choice of player, the Portugese manager quit the club and three weeks later was installed at West Ham.

It seems Nuno and Traore go back a long way – now Sullivan appears to have stepped in and squashed the deal to reunite the pair. One has to wonder what impact that will have on Nuno who walked out of Nottingham Forest when his transfer demand was rejected.

Lightening couldn’t strike twice could it?
