Fabian Hurzeler has made a pre-Palace pledge to Albion fans.

The Seagulls head coach has told supporters his side will give their all against the old rivals at Selhurest Park on Sunday.

But he recognises he cannot promise they will beat Crystal Palace.

Albion have had a good record in these meetings in recent seasons.

Ironically their best results against Palace, completing a double in 2018-19, came in their worst Prem season to date.

But they went empty-handed last season, with Dean Henderson making a crucial save from Yasin Ayari to deny them a late leveller away from home.

Hurzeler had already attended a fixture between the two teams as a fan when Danny Welbeck headed home to secure a 1-1 draw two seasons ago.

He said: “I understood it from the first second and I think it's a big responsibility we have, not only for us but for the whole club to give something back and especially for our supporters.
