Joel Veltman has been declared fit for Albion as they prepare to face Crystal Palace.

And head coach Fabian Hurzeler has not ruled out Kaoru Mitoma - despite his absence from the Japan squad.

Brajan Gruda and James Milner remain out as the Seagulls head to Selhurst Park.

Veltman has not played since his 55 minutes in the win at Chelsea six weeks ago.

But he revealed he was not fully fit going into that match due to a calf muscle injury.

Mitoma was not named in the Japan squad to face Ghana and Bolivia, both in Tokyo over the next fortnight, which was revealed early on Thursday.

With reference to the Palace game, Hurzeler said on Thursday morning: “Kaoru is very close to being an option – that’s positive.

“Percentage-wise it’s a 50-50 so we have to see how he is doing the training sessions.

“How he is doing today, how he is doing tomorrow and then we will have a look.”
