Everton’s match with Arsenal could yet be moved if Premier League bosses deem it appropriate.

Gunners boss Mikel Arteta has called for the match, the Blues’ last before Christmas, to be re-scheduled to help ease the festive fixture pile-up the league leaders are due to face.

The match, as it stands, is set to take place at Hill Dickinson Stadium at 2pm on Sunday, December 21. But with Arsenal now facing a Carabao Cup quarter final-with Crystal Palace just two days later, Arteta has called for concessions over the Everton match.

Under Premier League protocol there is a process that can allow for this to happen. Applicant clubs must submit a formal request to the Premier League board, which will then assess the merits of the claim and its impact on all top flight clubs impacted by any change.
