Thursday night’s Rangers against Roma fixture is very much a meeting of two teams who could both be in a much better place overall. It is of course the very first ever competitive meeting between the two sides, with the only previous meeting on any level being a friendly in 2004, as Ibrox Noise discussed earlier. But this is the first time that a meaningful match between the two has taken place.

Rangers’ current form

Rangers go into this one, quite frankly, in pretty rotten form. For all the arguments about an apparent improvement under Danny Rohl over two victories against bread and butter sides in the SPL, his overall win ratio remains 50%. That is not good enough for a Rangers manager or head coach.

Meanwhile at Roma, their form has been alright domestically, good enough to be in the top four in the league, but they’re low scoring. Just ten goals scored, the lowest of any side...
