Gateshead/ Newcastle United weekend.
So the FA Cup first round, The Heed (Gateshead) got drawn away to AFC Wimbledon and playing on the Saturday, then with ourselves (Newcastle United) also in London on the Sunday and our old pal Terry Timewarp having his 70th birthday bash on the Saturday night, it would have been a shame not to make a weekend of it.

It’s trains, hotels and match tickets bought and we are at Central station waiting for the 6.55am train to Kings Cross on Saturday morning.

Unfortunately, railworks elongate our journey, not arriving in London till 1.23pm.

So it’s straight down to Tooting (The Saturday night party is at Tooting Social Club on the High Street).and drop our bags off in our hotel.

A few light sherries and it’s off to the Cherry Red Arena (Had tickets for our league cup game there last season before it got switched). to watch the mighty mighty Gateshead put in a performance full of passion (Yes, I am coming to wor game in a bit) and no little skill in a cracking 2-0 win, with 249 of the Heed Army making the trip down south.
