Ruben Amorim believes his time at Manchester United has made him a better coach. The Premier League giants appointed the Portuguese as their new head coach in November last year after parting ways with Erik ten Hag.

Amorim arrived at Old Trafford on the back of a blistering spell with Sporting, where he won the league twice in four years. He had transformed the club’s fortunes, recording 164 wins in 231 matches in charge.

The Portuguese, however, has endured a difficult first 12 months at the Theatre of Dreams, though his team have recently shown signs of a turnaround.

Amorim managed just 16 wins in 42 matches across competitions last season, and lost the Europa League final 1-0 to Tottenham Hotspur. United also finished 15th in the Premier League table.

Despite a disappointing first six months, INEOS kept faith in the Portuguese and backed him heavily in the transfer market.

Amorim also offloaded the deadwood over the summer in a bid to streamline his squad ahead of his first full season in charge.

The team’s performances have already improved this season, with five wins and four defeats from their 11 matches across competitions so far....
