Leicester City boss Marti Cifuentes has revealed that Jordan James was taken off in Saturday's 2-0 defeat to Blackburn Rovers due to a back problem he sustained.

James was replaced by Bobby De Cordova-Reid in the 74th minute with City trailing by two goals. Andri Gudjohnsen scored twice, either side of half-time, to condemn the Foxes to a third straight Championship defeat.

There was a mixed reaction to a triple change earlier in the second half, when Patson Daka, Jordan Ayew, and Luke Thomas came on for Julian Carranza, Stephy Mavididi, and Victor Kristiansen.

But when James' number went up, sections of the King Power Stadium booed, while cries of "you don't know what you're doing" followed as the Wales international made his way to the substitutes bench.

After the defeat, Cifuentes was asked about the reaction of supporters to his decisions. Six minutes after James came off, Boubakary Soumare was sarcastically cheered off when Silko Thomas replaced him.
