The Wolves academy manager was revealed earlier this month as the top candidate for the role, as per the Rangers Review.

He will likely not start his role at Rangers until the new year, once he has worked his notice period with the Premier League outfit.

The 35-year-old, who was promoted to the role of head of academy coaching at Wolves in 2019, became academy manager in 2022.

This appointment comes after Rangers have been without a formal head of academy since April 2024, when Zeb Jacobs left to join Feyenoord.

Zurab Amirian assumed the role of head of academy football but also departed for Feyenoord earlier this year.

Since sporting director Kevin Thelwell joined the club in June, David McCallum has been working as the interim head of academy.

This is part of a larger overhaul behind the scenes at Rangers, led by Mr Thelwell.

Last month, it was announced that Robbie Thelwell, who has been head of technical scouting and loan management at Norwich City since July 2024, was joining Rangers as the club's new head of recruitment.
