Al-Ahly's former director of football has rubbished claims that the Egyptian club are pushing for a move for Mohamed Salah. Expectations for the forward were high headed into the new Premier League season as a result of bagging 29 goals and 18 assists for Liverpool last term.

However, the 33-year-old has endured a tough start to 2025/26, managing just three goals and two assists in nine games, while the Reds have suffered a sloop in terms of form. The club currently sit seventh in the English top flight, on a run of four consecutive league losses at the hands of Crystal Palace, Chelsea, Manchester United and Brentford.

Despite only signing a contract extension at the club in April, which will see him remain on Merseyside until 2027, Salah has found himself linked with a move to Al-Ahly as of late. However, Sayed Abdel Hafeez has confirmed that there has been no official approach from the Egyptian champions.
