Liverpool have given 18-year-old youngster Kieran Morrison his debut tonight in their Carabao Cup clash against Crystal Palace with a number of senior stars missing from the matchday squad. The attacking midfielder was also part of the Liverpool squad that travelled to Brentford, for their recent defeat in the Premier League, but was an unused substitute for that game.

Hugo Ekitike, Alexander Isak, Mohamed Salah and Cody Gakpo were just some of the big-name stars to miss the clash with the Eagles, as Arne Slot rested several first-team players. Just a few days on from being called up to the Premier League squad for the first time, the young winger was handed an opportunity to impress from the off.

Morrison has been impressive for Liverpool U21s this season, flourishing after being returned to his natural right-sided position under Rob Page. He played a crucial role in the U19s' 5-4 UEFA Youth League win against Frankfurt midweek, contributing to all five goals.
