Newcastle United's summer transfer business has turned the Magpies into a side capable of handling the rigours of the Champions League and domestic schedules, despite losing Alexander Isak to Liverpool.

While much of the focus in August was focused on the Swede's desire to move to Anfield, United quiely went about their transfer business, bringing the likes of Malick Thiaw, Jacob Ramsey and Anthony Elanga to St James' Park.

Isak's exit just before deadline day was finally given the green light as deals to sign Nick Woltemade and Yoane Wissa were sealed, and while it's taken Eddie Howe's side a little while to get into their stride, they have recorded two Champions League wins in their three games to date.

Saturday's win over Fulham came on the back of the 3-0 success against Benfica, and former Stoke City boss Pulis feels the Magpies now have the strength in depth to deal with the challenges ahead.
