TBR Football understands Manchester City are currently leading the race among Premier League rivals to sign Jeremy Monga.

Manchester City came close to securing the 16-year-old last summer, but at that time, Monga chose to sign his scholarship forms with Leicester.

The teen winger has since become a first-team regular for the Foxes, which was a key factor in his decision to stay.

Despite this, City’s interest has persisted, and they are reportedly preparing a fresh approach. Leicester, however, cannot prevent Monga from leaving, as he is not eligible to sign a professional deal until he turns 17 next June.

City are not alone in their pursuit. Tottenham, Chelsea, Manchester United, and Newcastle are all understood to be monitoring the England youth star closely.

Monga has previously been happy to remain at Leicester due to the first-team opportunities he has been afforded – the club’s main hope of retaining their homegrown talent.
