Leeds United attacker Brenden Aaronson says he is proud of himself at the way he responded to disappointment in producing an impressive goal-scoring display against West Ham United.

The United States international was a standout player in the 2-1 victory over the Hammers at Elland Road, scoring the opening goal of the game after just three minutes to put the hosts on their way to a crucial three points.

The victory lifts Leeds, albeit temporarily, to 13th in the Premier League table and gives them some much-needed breathing room over the relegation places.

Not for the first time in his Leeds career, Aaronson has faced some criticism this season for his performances, but answered any critics in the perfect fashion against the Hammers.

Speaking about the win and his own display, Aaronson told Sky Sports; "It was huge for us. We have been a little unlucky I think for results, so to stick it out and get the 2-1 win was huge for us and the three points.
