Robert Green says Leeds United ‘didn’t have to work hard’ as they beat West Ham United 2-1 at Elland Road.

The Whites struck twice in the opening 15 minutes with Brenden Aaronson opening the scoring before Joe Rodon doubled their advantage. Daniel Farke’s side could have been out of sight by half-time but couldn’t add to their lead.

It was a similar story in the second half as Leeds controlled the match without getting a third goal. West Ham made some late inroads and Mateus Fernandes got one back after 90 minutes to ensure a nervy period of stoppage time.

The Whites held on to record their third win of the season in the Premier League, consigning the hapless Hammers to a seventh defeat from nine league matches. Green, who played for both clubs, said: "They (West Ham) didn't play well and they had chances.
