The Bundesliga could provide an answer to Manchester United’s striker concerns once again.

After failing to secure the services of a Premier League-proven number nine, United splashed a significant fee to sign Benjamin Sesko from RB Leipzig. 

The 22-year-old has seemingly adapted well to the Premier League in his early days at United. Still, question marks remain over the youngster’s ability to spearhead the Red Devils’ attack on his own, given his inexperience. 

Before Serhou Guirassy left VfB Stuttgart for Borussia Dortmund, United reportedly made an unsuccessful attempt to sign the Guinea international in January of 2024. At the time, he was thought to be available for a fee in the region of €20 million.

The 29-year-old has proven to be a smart bit of business for the Black and Yellow as his reputation has skyrocketed since. He has bagged 44 goals and 13 assists in 60 appearances for Dortmund across all competitions.

According to Bild, Guirassy “could soon leave” Signal Iduna Park, but only at a “clearly agreed price”.

It is revealed that the Guinean forward’s Dortmund contract includes a €50m release clause, which only applies to a handful of clubs.
