Given the paucity of our attack, the race to sign another striker who can actually score goals has only increased. One man firmly on Tottenham’s radar is Samu Aghehowa.

Sporting News has recently reported that:

Aghehowa has already scored eight goals in nine games for Porto this season, therefore Spurs are extremely interested in the young Spaniard.

As per reports, despite his high release clause, he may be available for a much lesser price due to Porto’s financial constraints.

Financials on the deal would be crucial

Aghehowa’s market value stands at around £43m (€50m), with a contract until June 2029 and a £87m (€100m) release clause. However, Porto’s much alluded to financial pressures could see them accept a significantly lower fee, potentially sparking a bidding war across Europe.

Another issue which needs to be addressed is that Atlético Madrid retains a 50% sell-on clause from his Porto transfer.
