Thomas Frank has now shared a fitness update on Cristian Romero after the Aston Villa defeat at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Tottenham Hotspur suffered their second defeat of the Premier League season in their recent outing against Aston Villa at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

That defeat saw Frank’s men miss the chance to climb into second in the Premier League table, as they now sit in sixth place, behind top four rivals, Chelsea, Manchester City and Arsenal.

It was a rather painful loss for the Dane, who watched his side fail to capitalise on taking an early lead through Rodrigo Bentancur’s strike, only for Villa to stage a comeback and win 2-1.

A defeat, however, is not the only thing on the manager’s mind, with Frank also having to deal with the absence of his skipper, Cristian Romero.

Romero was set to feature from the start, having made an early return from international duty earlier in the week, but he picked up a knock during the warm-up, with Kevin Danso replacing him as a result.

Thomas Frank has now provided an update on the fitness of the defender, revealing that he does not expect it to be anything big.
