Lee Roche featured for a Premier League title-winning Manchester United side before quitting professional football by the age of 27.

The former England youth international even starred for the Red Devils in the Champions League during his time at Old Trafford.

However, he swapped the football pitch for the building site after dropping into non-league later in his career.

Roche had progressed through United's academy before making his first-team debut aged 21.

Having already spent time on loan at then third tier Wrexham, the right-back was named in the starting line-up in a League Cup tie against Arsenal.

Although United were thrashed 4-0, it would not be Roche's only appearance under Sir Alex Ferguson.

Instead, he would feature off the bench in the Premier League against Newcastle in November 2002.

United would go on to finish that season as champions, winning their 15th league title.
