Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has made his stance clear ahead of the January transfer window.

The futures of Kobbie Mainoo and Joshua Zirkzee have come under the spotlight in recent weeks, with both players struggling for regular minutes under the Portuguese boss.

Reports have linked the pair with potential moves, either temporary or permanent, when the window reopens in January.

United head coach Ruben Amorim was quizzed about their possible departures.

He said (via ManUtd.com): “That is normal, and I also know that in our club, everything is a lot of noise, and you have to have news, and players are not playing.

“They want to play. Like you said, there’s a World Cup. There are agents that listen to the players talking all the time.

“So, I understand that, but they are our players, and we need everyone to have a good season.”

Zirkzee has played merely 82 minutes across four games.

Benjamin Sesko is the new first-choice number nine, with Mason Mount having done well in the same role at the start of the campaign.
