Newcastle United lost 2-1 to Brighton on Saturday afternoon, as you no doubt know.

I couldn’t get down to the match today but watched the game online.

United started well but lost their way a bit as Brighton played well and dominated the first half.

As the second half developed, Newcastle improved markedly and it was Brighton struggling to cope as the game moved on.

Woltemade scored a fabulous goal and from then on it looked like United set to take all three points. Only for a rare break down the other end and when Dan Burn made an excellent block, the ball falling so sweetly for Welbeck to strike the winner.

I thought the referee was very generous to Brighton and some nonsense free-kicks given against Big Nick, whilst no luck at all either for NUFC when it came to balls falling kindly in and around the box.

After Brighton scored that winner against the run of play, I knew what was coming post-match.

Some way over the top nonsense from the usual suspects.
