7 Burn: Made some crucial interceptions and was unlucky for Brighton’s winner when he made a superb tackle but the loose ball rolled to the feet of Welbeck.

5 Tonali: Switched off for the goal looked exhausted by the time he was replaced in the second half.

6 Bruno: Struggled in the first half but much more effective in the second when Newcastle got a grip.
