DANNY WELLBECK hit a double for Brighton as Newcastle United suffered a 2-1 defeat on the south coast.

Wellbeck continued his fine recent run against the Magpies by putting the Seagulls deservedly in front in the first half.

Nick Woltemade scored a brilliant leveller 14 minutes from time, but Wellbeck struck his second eight minutes later as Newcastle suffered their third defeat of the season.
