Josh Sonni-Lambie continued his outstanding start to the season by helping fire Liverpool under-18s to an impressive victory at Manchester City on Saturday. Sonni-Lambie opened the scoring and then netted an 85th-minute winner as the young Reds beat the leaders 3-2 to move within three points of the U18 Premier League North summit.

Joshua Abe, the 15-year-old winger making only his third appearance at this level, scored the other Liverpool goal with a debut U18s strike as Simon Wiles's side became the first team to beat City in the league this season.

Sonni-Lambie, who made his EFL Trophy debut for the U21s in the 2-0 defeat at Crewe Alexandra in midweek, now has seven goals in six league games this season as well as strikes in the UEFA Youth League and the U18 Premier League Cup.
