Nottingham Forest linked manager Abel Ferreira “should be at Manchester City, Liverpool, Benfica or Porto.”

That’s according to Brazilian commentator José Ferreira Neto, via CNN Portugal. He’s been speaking about the Palmeiras manager to ESPN Brasil.

Ferreira had been linked with the Nottingham Forest job over the last week as pressure continued to grow on Ange Postecoglou. The Australian coach has now been sacked fter the 3-0 defeat to Chelsea on Saturday.

Several names have been linked with the position already, including Ferreira. He was brought into the mix on Friday, with a report explaining he was considered as a “Plan A” option.

A second report then stated that Palmeiras were scrambling to get their manager signed to a new deal, perhaps as a response to the Nottingham Forest interest.

They’re big fans of the Portuguese coach, who took charge in November 2020. He’s since led them two league titles, two Copa Libertadores titles, the Copa do Brasil, Supercopa do Brasil, Recopa Sudamericana and three Campeonato Paulista wins. They were also runners up in the FIFA Club World Cup in 2021.
