Manchester United signed Senne Lammens from Royal Antwerp on transfer deadline day to address their goalkeeping woes.

The Red Devils were looking for a new custodian this summer amid Andre Onana’s poor form since joining the club from Inter Milan in 2023.

The Cameroonian was loaned to Trabzonspor last month, with Altay Bayindir taking over as the new No. 1 this season.

The Turkish shot stopper endured a nervy start to the campaign, but retained his place despite Lammens’ arrival.

The Belgian’s performances prompted calls for Ruben Amorim to keep faith with him between the sticks for the upcoming Premier League clash against Liverpool on Sunday, 19 October, at Anfield. The Merseyside club head into the game on the back of three consecutive defeats across competitions, and United have an opportunity to pile more misery on their bitter rivals.
