Yesterday I wrote a piece on the Celtic Fans Collective and the fan meeting with the board. I made it clear that nothing the Collective is doing or proposing is in the same category as the so-called protest against Russell Martin which took place at Falkirk.

But I also warned that if things aren’t resolved quickly, the board runs the very real risk that matters will get ugly. That isn’t a threat; it’s a fact. The more they radiate contempt for the supporters, the more they ignore our wishes, the more they think they can brass-neck this out, the angrier people are going to get.

That does not mean that the Collective will resort to those tactics; they won’t. But you never know what others might do. This is not difficult to imagine.

So, I wasn’t surprised when another Celtic fan blog produced an article about “the anger of the mob.” I’ve written similar articles myself, particularly since it became clear that what was driving the Russell Martin protest wasn’t about results at all but about personal dislike of the man.
