Former Newcastle United midfielder Jonjo Shelvey found himself going viral on social media after a horror penalty miss for his new club Arabian Falcons.

Shelvey, who left Burnley in the summer following their promotion to the Premier League, raised some eyebrows when it was announced he had joined the United Arab Emirates outfit after struggling to find a new club over the summer.

The 33-year-old opted to make the move to the Dubai-based club, who are sponsored by Nando's, and he now plies his trade in the third tier of UAE football just two-and-a-half years after leaving Newcastle.

Shelvey captained his new side to a 1-0 win over Al Fath but missed the chance to cap the victory with a goal from the penalty spot.
