Wayne Rooney has voiced his worries about Liverpool following their setback against Chelsea, including giving his verdict on Alexander Isak's form since the Sweden striker left Newcastle United a £130m deal at the end of the transfer window.

Isak has only scored once for his new side, against Southampton in the Carabao Cup, and although he started at Chelsea on Saturday night, he was unable to help the Reds avoid a 2-1 defeat, their third loss of the week.

Estevao's decisive late strike for Chelsea came after reverses against Crystal Palace and Galatasaray in both the Premier League and Champions League.

It also means that Arne Slot's side have surrendered their position at the summit of the Premier League table, with Arsenal beating West Ham.

The trio of defeats arrive after seven consecutive victories in all competitions at the campaign's outset, though the bulk of those saw Liverpool depend on late strikes to secure victory, reports the Liverpool Echo.
