Tottenham secured a 2-1 victory over Leeds United in the Premier League on Saturday after Thomas Frank made six alterations to his Spurs starting eleven. Frank welcomed back captain Cristian Romero from injury and reintroduced Xavi Simons, Destiny Udogie, Joao Palhinha and Mohammed Kudus to the starting line-up. Richarlison was given a rest, with Mathys Tel leading the line in his stead.

Spurs took the lead when Rodrigo Bentancur, fresh off signing his new contract, won a ball in midfield, passed it to Kudus who then played it into the path of Tel. The Frenchman took an early shot that deflected past Karl Darlow. Leeds equalised in the 34th minute after Brenden Aaronson's deflected shot fell for Noah Okafor to react quicker than Destiny Udogie and slot home the loose ball. Spurs regained the lead just before the 60-minute mark when Kudus pounced on a stray ball, cut inside and fired a low shot that ricocheted into the bottom corner for his debut goal for the club.
