When you’re really under pressure, like Arne Slot currently is at Liverpool, then every aspect of your job is under scrutiny. And, that includes how you look.

English fans are well accustomed to the sight of a manager under pressure suddenly appearing haggard, tired, unshaven or simply like he’s had enough.

For Dutch journalist René van der Gijp, though, there’s another issue for Slot at Liverpool; the way he’s currently dressing.

Van der Gijp was watching like everyone else as Liverpool were beaten 2-0 by Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League this week.

While the performance on the pitch was a concerning one with Liverpool dominated throughout and lucky not to concede more, it seems the journalist was distracted by something else entirely.

He was unimpressed by how Arne Slot had dressed himself for the game. It’s something he’s seen before from the Dutch coach and called him out on it.
