Darwin Nunez has been a household name on the English shores, but he has never quite replicated the expectations on his initial transfer that made him one of the most talked-about players in the league.

But the Uruguayan is eyeing a redemption and is looking to return to European football when the summer transfer window comes around, and Tottenham Hotspur are among the clubs being approached for his signing.

Alongside the Lilywhites, Premier League duo Newcastle United and Chelsea are also in the picture to sign the former Liverpool striker who appears desperate to leave Saudi Arabia, according to a recent report from TEAMtalk.

Nunez was dropped from Al-Hilal’s Saudi Pro League squad after they signed Karim Benzema, given the restrictions to register overseas players, and this has left the Uruguayan without a place in the league matchday group.

With playing time hard to come by, it has pushed the Benfica academy graduate to push to find a new club whilst also being willing to take a significant pay cut on his current £400,000-per-week wages if the right project presents itself in Europe.
