Celtic goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel has been the No.1 since arriving at Celtic Park on a free transfer in 2024. Martin O’Neill hasn’t relied upon the 39-year-old for over a month due to an injury.

The Dane’s contract at Celtic expires in June and his future is certainly away from the club.

That’s mainly because Schmeichel went under the knife and needs to carry out another surgery for a shoulder problem.

The stopper has indicated he could be out for 10 months, forcing Celtic to make changes.

O’Neill has utilised Viljami Sinisalo in Schmeichel’s absence while Celtic have to look for a new stopper in the summer.

The Scottish Premiership club are already looking at a few options, including Levante UD goalkeeper Mathew Ryan.

That’s according to Voetbal 24, who cover Celtic’s interest in a report focusing mainly on Club Brugge.

Simon Mignolet has been the No.1 for the Jupiler Pro League side for years and will retire at the end of this season. This has seen Club Brugge look for an adequate replacement.
