Tottenham Hotspur have appointed Roberto De Zerbi as their new permanent head coach.

The Italian, who mutually parted ways with French side Marseille in February, has joined the North London club, mired in a Premier League relegation battle, just one point ahead of the bottom three in the table. He has committed to a long-term project at Spurs, signing a five-year deal with no relegation clause.

Having now hired a permanent boss, the N17 chiefs are stepping up their work for the summer transfer window. It looks like they are keen on reinforcing the forward department. This has been evident by Tottenham’s links with several forwards in recent weeks. Club Brugge starlet Nicolo Tresoldi is being monitored by the Tottenham scouts, while West Ham’s Crysencio Summerville has been identified as a priority target ahead of the summer transfer window.
