Roberto De Zerbi was announced as Tottenham Hotspur’s new head coach on a five-year deal at the start of this month to try and lift the team out of the relegation battle. He is the third coach this season to take charge of the North Londoners after Thomas Frank was sacked after eight months.

The Italian tactician is preparing for his first game in charge of Spurs away at Sunderland on Sunday. If West Ham wins against Wolves on Friday evening, Tottenham will start the game vs. Sunderland 18th in the table. So, Roberto De Zerbi must be desperate to hit the ground running in N17.

De Zerbi has been working with his boys since last week. He was handed an injury boost on his first day working with the Tottenham squad, as Mathys Tel took part in training sessions. Tel sustained an injury in Tottenham’s 3-0 defeat to Nottingham Forest, which ruled him out for France Under-21s Euro qualification games against Luxembourg and Iceland in the recently concluded international break.
