Elliot Anderson has been linked with a move away from Nottingham Forest at the end of the season and the two Manchester clubs are keen on him.

Manchester City are reportedly in the lead for his signature, but Nottingham Forest are keen on a bidding war so that they can recoup as much as possible for the young midfielder.

It remains to be seen whether that provides Manchester United with the opportunity to sign the 23-year-old defensive midfielder in the summer. They need to sign a quality long-term replacement for Casemiro, and the former Newcastle star could be an excellent addition.

“With Elliot Anderson, which one club benefits massively from multiple clubs being interested? Nottingham Forest,” Bailey revealed to TEAMtalk.

“They don’t want anyone to think that Manchester City have this tied down – they want a bidding war and that is completely understandable. They want top-of-the-market price, they want to be able to get a deal into three figures.

“Is Anderson worth £100million? There is that age old argument that nobody is, but in the current market it is hard not to see him in that bracket, his stock is going up and up.”
