Rangers may be in the market for a new midfielder this summer, and Danny Rohl has just been sent another timely reminder by Shea Charles after his goal against Arsenal for Southampton last weekend.

The deep-lying playmaker scored the winning goal in Southampton’s FA Cup quarter-final victory over Premier League leaders Arsenal on Saturday, to book the Saints a place in the semi-final of the competition.

Rangers are currently in a better position than Southampton, with the latter still stuck in the Championship, hoping to gain promotion to the Premier League once again.

The Gers will be expecting movement in the summer, as the 49ers prepare for another big window of spending, and midfield is an area that could be improved.

Rohl is keen on a Charles reunion, and that’s exactly what he might get, if he’s lucky.

Rangers were linked with Charles ahead of the winter window, but with Southampton gearing up for an important push for the end of the season, it was always unlikely that they would sell their star man.
